About

I have been “taking pictures” my whole life. There is a difference between “taking pictures” and being a “photographer”. I became a “photographer” in 2013 when I realized I could not afford to keep a photographer on retainer for a business venture I was involved with. I went and purchased my first DSLR camera, took an on-line photography course, watched a ton of “You-Tube Videos” and bugged the stuffings out of every professional photographer I knew. One thing everyone told me was Practice. So I practiced. I took photos of everything in my life, trees, grass, the sky, flowers, the people around me, my cat. I learned how to use both Lightroom and Photoshop, how to set my camera to “Manual”, and what “Natural” Light is. Fast forward to 2015 and I finally decided I wanted to try photographing people. I put out a call to my female co-workers that I would do photos of them for free. I did that for quite a few of the ladies from my work and then I moved on to photographing their families. Then in 2016, a friend took a chance referred a young model to me for images. Oh my goodness, I felt I was finally in my element. I loved the creativity that photographing models allowed me. I was able to take ideas I had run across, ideas I had put together in my mind and make them come to life. I love taking “Captivating Images” and presenting them to the individuals that helped make them “Captivating”.
